CNC Milling Service for Custom Precision Parts

CNC milling for drawing-based parts

ExactMach coordinates suitable manufacturing partners for custom CNC-milled parts. The process starts with your current 2D drawing, 3D CAD model and project requirements. Feasibility, material, price, lead time and inspection requirements are confirmed for each RFQ.

CNC milling is suitable for housings, brackets, fixtures, plates, mounts, prototypes and other components requiring machined surfaces, pockets, holes and controlled dimensions.

Parts commonly reviewed

  • Aluminum housings and covers
  • Automation brackets and mounting plates
  • Robotics and motion components
  • Fixtures, jigs and tooling parts
  • Low-volume prototypes and repeat components
  • Complex parts with pockets, slots and drilled features

Information needed for a milling RFQ

Send a revision-controlled 2D drawing and matching 3D model where available. Include material grade, quantity, surface finish, critical tolerances, inspection documentation, delivery destination and target timing. If a feature controls fit or alignment, mark it clearly and explain the functional requirement.

Materials may include aluminium 5052, 6061 and 7075, 45 steel, SK2 steel and other materials subject to project review. Material and supplier capability are confirmed for the individual part; no universal capability is assumed.

Engineering review before quotation

A milling review considers:

1. Part geometry, wall thickness and deep features 2. Datum structure and critical dimensions 3. Material behavior and machining approach 4. Workholding and setup considerations 5. Surface finish and post-processing 6. Inspection method and required records

A tighter tolerance should be applied where function requires it. It should not be applied across the entire drawing without a design reason because it can affect process complexity, inspection time and cost.

Finishing and inspection support

Anodizing, heat treatment and other post-processing can be coordinated when suitable for the material and application. Inspection requirements may include critical-dimension checks, inspection reports or material documentation. The selected partner must confirm the process and documentation before production.

From drawing to delivery

ExactMach provides one project coordination point from RFQ review through manufacturing evaluation, quotation, production communication, quality confirmation and shipping coordination. The operator does not present partner-factory capabilities as owned factory capabilities.

FAQ

Can I request a quote with a 3D model only?

A 3D model can support an initial discussion, but a controlled 2D drawing is normally needed for tolerances, datums, material, finish and inspection requirements.

What quantities can be reviewed?

Prototype, low-volume and repeat-production quantities can be reviewed subject to supplier confirmation for the specific part.

How do I start?

Send the drawing, CAD model, material, quantity, finish and destination for an engineering review.
