CNC Drawing Title Blocks: A Release Checklist for International RFQs

RFQ CONTROL / CNC MACHINING INSIGHTS

The title block is where a released drawing identifies itself. For an international CNC RFQ, it should make the document revision, units and key part requirements easy to confirm alongside the model.

Use the title block as the release reference

Make the part number, drawing revision and units visible in the controlled PDF. The model filename and RFQ should point to that same released identifier; avoid labels such as “final” or “latest.”

Our drawing revision control guide explains how to keep the model and drawing package aligned.

Keep requirements visible

Material, finish, quantity and any critical notes should be carried by the controlled package. If the drawing uses a general tolerance note, ensure it is visible on the released document rather than only in a separate message.

See our general tolerances guide for the relationship between title-block notes and specific functional dimensions.

Check before release

  • Current part number and revision
  • Clearly stated units
  • Material and finish callouts
  • Model matching the same revision
  • Critical inspection and destination notes

Our inspection guide covers the information to include when a feature needs particular review.

RFQ check: release one controlled PDF and matching model, identify the revision and units, and include all material, finish and critical-feature requirements in the same package.
